Postpartum Support Virginia (PSVa) has an immediate opening for a Coalition and Care Coordinator in Prince William County, VA. PSVa is a nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a two-pronged mission; 1. to educate families, healthcare providers and communities about Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) and 2. to provide peer support and resources to help new and expectant perinatal people and their families overcome anxiety, depression, and other PMADs. 

The position reports directly to the Executive Director and serve as a member of the Spanish Services Team. This is a contract, 25-hour per week position; limited evening and weekend availability is required. Pay commensurate with experience and organizational capacity.

  • Manage PSVa’s efforts to execute increase the number of individuals serviced in Prince William County including being responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the requirements of the grant funders. Responsibilities include: 
  • Provide care coordination to affected individuals and families from the region in English and Spanish. This includes connecting individuals with appropriate mental health services and other resources for recovery from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. 
  • Launch Mothers and Babies support groups in Prince William County in English and Spanish 
  • Developing partnerships that enhance PSVa’s referral sources in the region. 
  • Ensure those providing perinatal health services, mental health services, community-based organizations and other agencies in the region are aware of PSA’s services and training programs. 
  • Regular communication with Coalition members about PSVa services, organizational updates, and new research in the field of perinatal mental health. 
  • Work with the Social Support Services team to implement Peer Mentor Services in the region. 
  • Ensure PSVa  staff and volunteers are aware of services in the community and provide relevant updates for the website or other print materials. 
  • Work in partnership with the Training Manager to promote training programs to the region. 
  • Represent PSVa at relevant community-based meetings and events 
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives and grant proposals for the region. 
  • Support the Statewide Perinatal Mental Health Coalition as part of the Coalition Coordinator Team. 

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong people skills. 
  • Ability to work in a group and on their own. 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete projects on time and within budget, while working on long-term initiatives and strategies  
  • Familiarity with mental health resources and systems. 
  • Familiarity with the perinatal time is preferred. 
  • Live in Northern Virginia, Prince William County preferred 
  • Skill in relationship building and community outreach. 
  • Prior experience with care coordination or case management is preferred. 
  • Professionals with experience in perinatal health (nurses, doulas, etc.), mental health, as well as those with experience in public health or community organizing are encouraged to apply.
