The Board of Directors of Postpartum Support Virginia is pleased to announce the appointment of the Acting Executive Director of Postpartum Support Virginia (PSVa), Mandolin Restivo.
Mandolin is a dynamic non-profit leader with twenty-five years of experience in management, fundraising, and perinatal health. She comes to PSVa with experience in both higher education, non-profit management, and birth work.
Most recently, Mandolin was the Director of Support and Development for PSVa where she managed grant writing and coordinated PSVa’s social support groups and PSVa’s warm line. In this role, she oversaw the successful transition to virtual support in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She has a deep understanding of perinatal health and has worked with individuals and families as a birth and postpartum doula, rape crisis counselor, and a domestic violence advocate. As the Director of the Ramapo College Women’s Center, she spearheaded the Sexual Assault Contact Team as well as the Safe Zone program for LGBTIQ+ students, and served as the campus Diversity Education Coordinator.
Mandolin has a history of bringing theory to practice as a Women’s Studies professor, Deputy Director of Bronx Community Solutions (where she helped to develop alternative sentencing options for individuals involved in sex work and prostitution as well as other low-level offenses), and as co-founder of the Bronx Reentry Working group.
Mandolin served on the National Planning Committee for the March for Racial Justice and as a founding Board Member of NJAAF, an organization that fills gaps in funding to enable perinatal people to access reproductive health care.
We are excited to work alongside Mandolin and each of you to improve the lives of perinatal individuals and families in Virginia.
You can reach Mandolin directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
