Thank You To The Junior Women’s Club of Williamsburg
Many thanks to the Junior Women’s Club of Williamsburg for awarding a grant in May 2018 to PSVa to provide supplies for our support group leaders in Williamsburg.
PSVa leads two support groups in Williamsburg:
- 2nd and 4thTuesday evenings each month at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center (100 Sentara Circle, Williamsburg, Jamestown Conference Room, 5:45 – 7 pm)
- 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoons each month at Child Development Resources (150 Point O Woods Road, Williamsburg, 1:45 – 3 pm)
Each of the support group leaders were recently provided a brand-new support group kit – a canvas tote bag with all the materials they need to lead the support groups, including a binder, necessary forms, tissues, and other supplies.

Support groups are an evidence-based low-cost intervention that are widely considered a “best practice” for help in recovery from mental health issues. Support group members validate and normalize experiences, providing hope for recovery and important social connections. PSVa provides support groups at hospitals throughout Virginia that provide maternity services.
